So in my eight FM 2005 game I finally made it to a third season! I was in a second season with Stalybridge but my save game must have been corrupted because I couldn't open it anymore. So I went to Frank and he gave me Worksop.
2004-05
Twenty six games into my first season at Worksop I got sacked. Of course I was 0-5-21 at the time so it wasn't much of a shock. I expected the axe to fall sooner but the board must have enjoyed my run in the FA Cup, which was the only place I could win games. After three weeks of unemployment I was picked up by Harrogate Town. No transfer budget, wages a mess, but a full staff so that was nice. They were one point clear of safety when I got there and we finished three points clear in 18th place. Apparently that was enough for the board to keep me on.
2005-06
A bad start kept us flirting with disaster. By now I knew who wasn't working out and got some funds from their sale and some room to work in the wage budget. One and out in both cups but that was ok because the sqaud was small. A nice loan of a Birmingham reserve striker gave us a shot in the arm and at season's end there were no worries as we finished a comfortable 16th.
2006-07
Darlington made a nice offer on a midfielder I rather liked but his high wages and a generous fee were too much to resist. I bought some decent midfield help and after some trial and error to find a tactic everyone was comfortable with we started to climb up the table. We lost our first cup game but went to the 6th round of the trophy with some decent gates along the way. The finish was 7th, just two points out of the playoffs. I am now the talk of the Town!
So it's off to the next season. This game is much more fun when you're winning!
Everything was going fine in my fourth season. We were in the safe mid-table position the board wanted. The board was very pleased with my performance, the fans were delighted and we were coming off a win on the road with first place Stafford. Right after the game I found I was sacked because of my poor relationship with my staff. That was news to me.
Now I'm trying to decide if I want to continue this game or start a new one.
