A massive £9000 in the bank with £1000 transfer kitty and The Dripping Pan that holds 2600 people. When you see the ground, you can see it's lovely.

A fantastic start to my career. Four games played, no goals scored, thirteen conceded and no points. No hope either.
A tweak of formation, some shrewd freebies to go over the wage budget. Mmmm.
Finish the season in 4th place, before losing to bogey team Maidenhead United in the South playoff semi final.

Cups were a mixed bag. An embarrassing 2-0 reverse at Marlow Town in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round was antagonised by a run to the Fifth Round of the FA Trophy, losing 2-0 at Farnborough Town, a run that netted me something like £20,000 in prize money and keeping me in the black.

2005/6

With financial constraints much the same as the first, I was hopeful for another run to the playoffs.
With one game to play, we find ourselves sitting one point behind Crawley Town. We win, Crawley lose at Sutton United, Lewes are champions and promoted to the Conference National.

We did better in the FA Cup, going out in the Fourth Qualifying Round to then Conference North pacesetters Moor Green, but lost in the Trophy Second Round at Slough Town by a single goal.

Gah! Lewes, can't do anything against them in my game... Lost 3-0 in all 3 games i've played against them so far with Thurrock. Got them up next so will see if I can get some revenge....

*WEEP* , finally beat them, 6-1 away thrashing....then my game crashes post match. Now the saves corrupted. Goes off to cry over a strong drink.

2006/7

A £100,000 Conference TV rights boost sees us with a massive transfer budget of £1000 and a salary budget of £3300. Board and fans alike are looking for a brave fight against the drop.
The bookies don't agree, saying we have an outside chance of promotion at 25-1. Halifax and Cambridge United are 6-4jf.

Unlike previous seasons we're on the pace from the off, even enjoying a fairly lengthy spell at the top. We eventually settle down to a place in the playoffs/just outside. A final day win over Southport sees us leapfrog Woking into 5th spot and into the playoffs.

After losing 3-1 away, we reverse the score at home before beating Aldershot Town on penalties. The 0-0 drab affair versus Cambridge United sees another shootout, this time we lose and will spend at least another season in the Conference.


The F.A. Cup saw us reach the first round for the first time in the game, where we lost 4-1 at League Two outfit Bradford City. In the Trophy we were humbled at home 1-0 by Ashton United in round four.
