I actually finished 11th in 2007/8
2008/9
Thanks to the cup cash, our training facilities are upgraded to good, costing around £50,000. Our transfer budget is increased to £91,693 +75% sales and wage budget up to £6750. I resign all players I want to keep, sign a couple of new ones (including a striker for £30,000) to take me a grand over.
The board sign a new sponsor ship deal with a local company... 5 years at £12,500 a year. That all??!!

They expect us to stay clear of relegation, with the bookies having us at 14-1 to win promotion. Carlisle & Exeter are 6-4 joint favourites.
We have a horrendous start, and spend the first third of the season in the bottom three. Then a stonking run sees us climb as high as the playoffs before we eventually settle back into mid table and a finish of 8th. A rather topsy turvy season which needs to be improved for next season.
The cups weren't kind this season. In the FA Cup we lost in Round 1 at Exeter City. We lost 3-1 at Conference champions Boston United in the Fourth Round of the Trophy and we were even in the Vans Suck Arse Trophy, as it turns out sixteen Conference teams now enter. We lose in South Round 1, 4-1 at home to Fulham.
By the end of the season, we're financially where we were at the start of 2007/8 but with a bigger wage bill!
