Default LLM game setup

Hi folks,

Just wondering what settings you use to play your LLM game. I've been playing big club manager with all the English leagues running (not in full detail) and a large database and it's running without any difficulties. However, I did send a scout off to look at Eastern Europe and he hasn't come back with anything in 6 months.

Before I setup my new game for Moor Green with the latest patch, is there any particular settings you would use. I know that Large database is really a minimum, but how many leagues do you run to make scouting etc worth while or doesn't it really matter as long as you are running large/huge database?

I've also just used the Random LL Team Generator and it has selected me FC Unirea 2002 Focsani in Romania - sounds good, but again, would you just run the Romanian league or is it advisable to run others as well.

You might not be able to answer this (unanswerable question), but I'm just trying to setup the best experience without having to keep restarting!

Thanks for your help
Rob

My advice would be to use the Huge Db, which retains most players anyway, and load the Nation of your choice, or if using a smaller Db load the Nation and surrounding Nations, and if you're Portugal I'd add Brazil for the old "historic link" aspect.

Hope that helps.

When I played in Romania I used a huge db but no other leagues were running and it was fine. The only problem I had was a unusual amount of African and Indian Ocean players and managers turning up.

If you want to move around a bit then maybe put some of the other Eastern Europe leagues in. MOst of these are only 2 divisions so they shouldn't affect the speed too badly.

Always play Huge database. Then I'll load the league I start in to the lowest level and any other leagues I'm interested in playing that game to their 2nd Div, at least. This game it's French National (startting league), England League 2, Germany & Spain 2nd Div.

Any additional nation you run you should at least include the 2nd div from so that there's realistic promotion/relegation options. As to whether you 'should' load other leagues. That goes to one question- so you 'want' to play in another league in the game?

If you have a life like the rest of us

I like to run a large database with around 7-10 countries and around 20-25 leagues. But always pick your starting nation and then surrounding ones and any other historic links (as iajafer mentioned)

Unfortunatelly, i have no any clue about other LLaMas life-style. Well, except some ones being drivers of some big cars.

To be honest, i have mostly 3-4 hours per day for FM (given the note that 80% of that time goes for 'Processing...' and is spent on some useful stuff like science).

As per topic. What others said. In our 'mini-clan' games it's usually 8-9 countries with 13-15 leagues, as we model "loyal" managers with no ship-jumping. I wonder, btw, where to you can jump from Iceland

I myself hate how the huge database is set up. I had Poofland based crap flood virtually every single league, no matter where (I really can't see every single team in Austria have at least 3-4 English players in the first 11), so I refuse to use it anymore. I experimented a bit around with loading surrounding leagues and a small DB and other settings, and for my purposes, I feel it's best to pick one country with all its leagues only, use the smallest db, and retain players from those countries that have lots of players in the country I'm playing. Like when I'm playing in Austria, I'm retaining Germany, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Croatia. I found that I enjoyed that settings best.

I prefer a huge database with about 4-5 nations (up to 16-20 divisions). In general I load up the starting nation and all neighbor countries, this complets the regional database and you have a wide variety of clubs you can start over after a sacking.

Speed is accpetable with that configuration. In the past I did run some all division games, but stopped with CM4 as you can watch yourself getting older during the processing of a week in the game.
