Sorry for the double post, but I just thought of an actual question. What is the word on the ethics of having the scout scout for something specific. Should I just let him scout whatever he feels(in the country of course) or would it be ok to have him scout specifically for players who may be out of contract or listed for loan or such?

5.68 million seems rather precise, how did you work that one out?

It's fine to ask your scout to look for players for certain positions, but that's about it I would say. How on earth would your scout know that a player's contract was running out, or that a player was worth a certain amount, etc etc.

Scout is scout, and you are the manager. Scout can say the guy's crap/decent/good/excellent which means he's easily/probably/unlikely/impossible to get signed. If he's out of contract/loan available - treat it like a bonus, which you - as a manager - have discovered. Otherwise it's not appliable to the extent of good mind

Ok thank you, luckily I haven't searched like that, and now that I have had clarification, I won't.

If you have more than one scout then having them search out specific positions is cool. Bbut if you only have one scout... I'd have him looking for anything he could find.

Depends. I once took over a club with no-one on staff who could play in central midfield. I sent the only scout out to look for MCs immediately.

Once I had bodies in all positions, I switched him to bring back any recommendations regardless of position.

The only time I had sent out a scout to find specific player, he reported back with players with just M on their position. Can't find the players in any of my squads either. They seem to go into hiding.

I could see if you had a dearth of a ceratin positon you would send your scout out looking for that. I've never seen anyone just play 'M'. maybe it's for Mindless?

My scouts found a couple of 'M' players, but I think it was pre - first patch. I certainly haven't seen it since the second patch was applied, anyway.
