Just wondering - so far I've only had one experience of managing true LLM style - taking BPA to the play-offs in League 2. They are a challenge in themselves - not a big ground, a poor squad, no cash and very few players want to come to you, initially. I'm currently enjoying my present game, where I've moved on to Burnley in the Championship - but I may venture back down to LLM in the future, if a suitable job comes along that interests me - perhaps a job in Italy, or back in the Northern Conference - who knows ?

Any stories/experiences to share ?

Hardest job I ever had was at Wehen, BG. The promotions from Regionals to 1.Bundesliga weren't too hard, but the step up from 2.Bundesliga to 1.Bundesliga is the hardest in CM/FM, in my experience.

I take it that was a game where you decided to try and stick it out. It is very frustrating when you feel as if you've taken a club as far as you can, but there is still that little bit of hope that keeps you hanging on.

It was one that sort of ran away with me. I didn't expect promotion first season but got back-to-back straight up to 1.Bundesliga, then couldn't get above 13th place for a lot of seasons.

Enjoyed it, though.

Walhain in Belgium was tough, too.

The biggest-ever test of my motivation to stick in there is occurring RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND.

I started a game in the Turkish third tier with relegation-threatened Corluspor, with the aim of somehow getting my hands on the Newcastle job. I got them promoted, kept them up, moved to Holland with AGOVV, saved them from relegation, moved to relegated AZ, got them promoted the next season, into the Champions League the year after that and moved to Feyenoord, where I won the league undefeated and got to the Champions League semis.

Then I resigned, unable to face the task of going a whole other season undefeated, not thrilled by the thought of steamrollering the Dutch league again... my reputation instantly went from Continental to Local and nobody'd touch me. I ended up at Millwall, a substantial step backwards. I can do it. I can... I can...
