2010/2011 - Bristol Rovers
Because of the stadium expansion my transfer budget was cut down, so i could only add 2 players to the squad. The bookies gave 40-1 promotion odds, which i thought was quite good, considering the quaility of my players. I was quite worried when we were completely outplayed by sheff utd in our championship debut, but it turned out they were one of the better clubs in the division (eventually they won promotion to the
prem). Apart from the early scare, we played well, and finished 9th.
I had my first bristol derbies: managed to beat city 1-0 at home, but lost 3-2 away. 4 players arrive in the summer to replace some old, long serivng squad members.
Scotland won the European Championship in Serbia & Montenegro, after beating Bulgaria in the final.

FA cup: lost to millwall 1-0 in the 3rd round replay
LC 2nd round 2-0 defeat against crystal palace

One of the striker scored an amazing 35 goals in 38 games :eek:. The winger, who returned from a long term injury also broke the club record with 25 assists. After a slow start we started climbing the table, and in december we found ourselves in the play-off spots. In 2011 we only lost 3 games, and didn’t concende a goal for more than 2 months. So, with 3 matches to go Bristol Rovers won the L1 for the first time since 1990. In the pre-season the stadium got expanded by 3500 seats, and it will hold 15000 people. After two consecutive promotion staying in the Championship will be a real struggle. Didn’t make any significant signings either, so my only hope is that my star striker’s goals will be enough to keep us up…
