Managers do talk to the media and in interviews about tactic:

I may try a more defensiv 10-2-18 in the comon games,as one of my attacking midfielders is out.

Manager X prefers a patience 7-1-9, I think this has no influence on our game, we will play our usual 0-15-3

And so on.

I'm quite sure this part of managing and media interaction will become a part of the game in the future. And it would be way better than the existing manager rivalry crap.

So my point is just that one: If the rules are "no tactic talk", I say, okay, this are the rules. But if we are talking about realism, it looks different.

What managers say to the media is as much misdirection as anything. It is NOT discussing tactics with their mates the other managers.

e.g. Last Thursday, the Norwich manager told the press he'd be "ringing the changes" to the side that lost at Bolton prior to the Arsenal match. What happened? The same XI that lost at Bolton lost at Arsenal.

The initial question by the one who started the thread was not about tactic discussion, it was about mentioning of tactics in a update thread.

And so was my first answer. And so is this one. If it's not allowed here, it's not allowed, but I have another opinion about it. That's all.

No problem. You brought it up. I was merely pointing out how wrong you were.

Tipping is bad, Tactic naming is bad and stupid. I don't want to go into the game knowing that most of the guys here got promoted using a-b-c, while all the guys who used x-y-z got relegated.

I'm willing to play x-y-z, and maybe I can notice that the problem is the tactics and not the players. I want to have a hard time finding why something is (not) working like planned.

The only point I would question rules is on the player naming thing. I do believe we should be able to talk about regens, and that people should have some brain to avoid floodgate scenario.

But since what I believe is proved to be an utopia, I totally agree with this rule, also.
