Here's the point. Some teams are known for prefering to employ unknown managers from lower leagues, while some teams will never get an unproved guy to manage their team.
In FM, job offers continue to be very unrealistic, even though they got a lot better in 5.0.5.
Now, if I'm playing in Brazil, which is my home country, and some other countries, I will know which clubs would realistically offer the job a John Doe. And probably you guys would know in a few.
But what about those countries you have got no idea how it works?? How would you guys approach this??
But a central aspect to FM is that any gamers can choose any club to manage. You can't have them code it so you can't start with manure or with any lower league team - a lot of people buy the gamer to manage their own team however glamorous or obscure it is.
Unrealistic? Well even the most obscure lower league team agreeing to hire ME as manager is unrealistic.
It happens in real football too, that some clubs tends to employ unknown managers, mostly because they can offer low wages, but also because they hope a new and fresh manager could bring in some new ideas into the club.
If we talk about realism you will see that there are not that many managers in the top leagues with a age below 45. The reason for that is simple, managers have to make their learning and experience period as assistant manager or in a lower league for about 10 - 15 years usually.
Being approached by a better club just after one successful season in the conferende is something not that realistic. However, if I think I did a good job in my current club and there is the opportunity for a new challenge, I will at least consider it - unless it is a complet unrealistic move, but as far as I can see job offers in FM2005 are not that unrealistic.
I don't know if you can guess after a couple of games, which clubs tends to employ a freshman, besides you starting unemployed, which does not work well in the game. But if there will be a club who always approach me, I would refuse it the second time it happend and also the next, because I think it's just boring to make the same career over and over again.

Isn't the whole idea of hiring a new manager to bring fresh ideas to the club, regardless of whether they are unknown or not?
I read somewhere that the game 'assumes' you have had a career as a footballer before stepping into management. Similar I guess to alot of managers in real life.
Don't know what that proves, but just thought I'd share.
(Can't actually remember where I read it, but think it was here somewhere.)
It would be nice to choose though. I know some managers that were not successful footballers. And they were better managers than those with footy experience.
