| FM2005 is a slow game. But if you compare what it offers with a bigger database it's worth to read a book while playing the game. 
July, August and January are the months which uses the most processing time, especially in September you will think that the game is flying.

Possibly. What's the start date for the Irish league? I would have thought it would be fairly close to the rest of the UK, but I don't know for sure.

Hey, dbd63, from a fellow American, and a FOF beta tester - welcome to the 'big leagues'! My humble opinion - this is the best game out there in the sports-management genre (any sport!), and LLM is the most enjoyable way to play it. Give yourself a month or so, and you'll be wondering why American sports don't have promotion and relegation - it adds such spice to the mix!
On the arranging friendlies bit, most of the teams will reject friendlies if it isn't the right time of year to be scheduling friendlies.

If you dont know the teams in Europe, try playing with the MLS first to get a hang of the game.
If I was from China then I think I would start there with a team I know.
Although I think there remembering the names might be difficult! :eek:
Play your own way and have a go! Canada, Korea, Belarius, etc., but try the hard way!
Its more frustrating but its the LLM way
