starting a new game with carshalton (frank) does it make a diffrence if players contracts are full time or part time? for example does it improve fitness levels to be full time?
Whenever i have signed a player or re-newed anyones contracts i have always set it to full time as i thought it would help change my status from semi-pro to pro quicker but despite three very successful seasons and a squad of full time players and coaches it still no change.
I agree that it is for asthetics more than anything else.
I'm doing a bit of an experiment with this. In my current campaign I'm managing East Stirling and I'm maintaining a strict policy of only giving part-time contracts to all players and staff.
I'm into my 3rd season now and only one fella said he wouldn't sign because he wanted a full-time contract.
I'm giving minimal wages too but my guess is you could just as easily give say £100 full-time as £100 part-time.
All in all it doesn't appear to make any significant difference. What MIGHT be affected however is the mid- to long-term reputation of the club. This MAY result in players of a higher calibre not signing for me because we're still part-time. But i have no idea how I could assess if this was affecting me or not.
Here in LLaMAland part-time/semi-pro ought to mean something. I do wish SI would add this to their 'to do' list but I'm not optimistic.
