I know this might sound like a strange question since the F database is supposed to be one of its USPs. However I started a game with my favourite local LL side Stalybridge Celtic before 2.0.2 was released. My star MC was worth £50k by the end of the first season, fans' favourite etc. Anyway a bug ruined the game by messing up the finances so I thought I'd start again under 2.0.2 with the same club.
Maybe this is not strictly LLM but I thought knowing the squad already would get me off to a flyer as I wouldn't have to spend months getting a feel for who is good and who isn't. What was strange is that the MC was now a MR and his stats were nowhere near as good. One of the other MCs had improved massively and I also had a DC who, while rubbish in the first game is still at the heart of my defence three seasons later in League II.
I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I don't think 2.0.2 contained any data updates so why did my players change so much?
A lot of young players do start with random stats in the game, they have just a initial indicator if they can become a crap, average, good or top player in the future. The game does initialize a lot of players at every new start of a game with random stats.
And you should update the game to version 5.0.5 before starting a new game, as there were more bugs fixed and some things tweaked.
I know I have got 2.0.5 but I started this game before that patch came out.
I can understand random stats for regens and completely obscure players but these are real people with photos and everything, I have even seen them on the real Celtic website (and am secretly thinking of becoming a fan). Just thought it was a bit weird, particularly the change of position.
My guess is that with some lower league clubs the research is on the thin side. They won't have dedicated researchers for every club so some might only be seen once or twice and the reserves never. Therefore there would have to be a lot of 0s in the initial attributes.
I'm just starting as a lower league researcher for Luton for FM2006. and can I just sya it is very hard to find information on younger players at lower league clubs, and no the stats are not random for most lower league first team players
There's a thread somewhere (do a search) in which SI are asking for fans to research lower league clubs (inc. Rymans Premier etc.) so as to have a more accurate (and consistant, which is what I think you're talking about) database. So, if you want to do something about it, you could always help SI?
