When you guys use dissolve on the render, how many layers of the render do you usually put on dissolve?

it really depends on what the opacity of the dissolve is, when i did it i had two -
one on the higher opacity dissolve and i kept close to the render but smudged it a bit
the other one i put on a much lower opacity and made it more spread, in other words i smudged it a lot more.
it all depends if you are going for a subtle or exposed dissolve effect
edit - also rubbing parts out of the non-disslove render helps too!
