I looked at a few youngsters and when you go to the Bid section the comments are Future star or see's him as a first team player etc.

I have bought some of teh future starts 17 to 20 and put them in my reserves to see what happens.

But how useful are the comments or do you ignore them?

I'd say your assistant is right 50%.
They sometimes tell you to put a player on the transferlist because he isn't good enough for your squad. However I ignored that advice a few times and the players turned out great. (SOME, not ALL)

i tend to listen to what he says but if they players stats look good i take a gamble on him its worth a shot and if hes only young 9 times out of 10 his value increases so if hes no good you can sell him for more than you bought him for. If you do take a gamble on a youngster loan him out for a season or two and see how his stats fair after that, then decide what to do with him
