Hi guy's. Wasn't sure if this was a bug or a data error or none so I just posted here. Anyhow...

On the data editor it says that Newcastle has a link with Chinese club Dalian. However, in the game there seems to be no record of it, either on Newcastle's, or Dalian's sqaud screens.

I've played with all leagues in both English and Chinese models and still have no success.

Does anyone have any suggestions? (Without post in bugs/data forums)

maybe because the 'startdate' has not been ticked and set?

go back to the editor and go to the affiliated clubs in newcastle.
select dalian and the 'edit affiliation' will become editable.

note the startdate is not ticked. tick it and give a date. they may now appear. or not. just somethign i would try

In real life Dalian is not a feeder club of Newcastle, the affiliaton might be old or just speculation for the future. And as postal postie said, not having the 'startdate' ticked and thus not active.

If you look at Dalian's rival Shandong, it has an affiliation with Charlton without the 'startdate' ticked too. Shandong is not in anyway a feeder club of Charlton, I think the link is there simply because Charlton loaned and then bought Zheng Zhi from Shandong.

Thanks guys. Will give that a try. Just makes me wonder why it's even there then.

Newcastle do have a link with Dalian iirc, it was announced in the local papers a while back.

it was probably put there in anticipation that a link maybe made in real life.
it certainly doesn't make any different because it's not active so wont be in teh game.

They are linked in my game.

Doesn't matter because none of my youngsters will ever go on loan there and they have no good players

Queen of the South are now a feeder club of mine. They are just about to get promoted to the SPL which is good experience for any youngsters I want to send there.

Is the link seriously in your game...I might have to do more research...eventhough after seeing Michael's link, I still doubt the link exists at the moment because I follow the chinese league and Dalian has never mentioned anything about Newcastle United in China. The media in China has not reported this link from what I see.

Also Chinese feeder clubs in 07 used to be merchandise feeder clubs, not feeder clubs for the purpose of loans. I am not too sure about 08.

I'd post a picture but I have no idea how so....

But yeah, they are most certainly linked in my game right from the start.
