I am playing a game as Reading. Midway through the first season and I have seen scored at least 7 or 8 goals in the same strange way.
Corner is taken and striker heads in from a v tight angle on the near post. The commentary then says "Lita scores in bizarre fashion". This has honestly happened about 8 times in one half season. I'm not complaining as it has brought me a lot of goals, there is nothing in my tactics which should specifically drive this so I am a bit confused, I can only think it is a bug ...
Same thing happened to me 3 times in 4 matches. It stopped happening as soon as I put someone who can head on the near post though, so I changed it back. I agree with the point though, seems to happen a bit too often.
Yep same here or they say"he never meant that"had it twice in 1 game,Even changed the corners so it never went front post ...but that never helped much ..they still go front post
Amaroq - I understand that, it's not the commentary I am confused about, it is the fact that I have seen a literally identical goal occur for roughly 20% of my goals, which is supposedly a bizarre (and therefore unusual) situation. I think I'm also right in saying that every single one has been a taken from the left by oster (who seems to actually be very good on this game) and scored by Lita
craigtomk, I'm trying to say I think the commentary is misleading / incorrect.
Its saying "in bizarre fashion" or "he never meant it!", which we take to mean, well, some bizarre occurrence, a pass that turned into a goal, a caromb off an unusual body part, or something ..
.. when it actually means "He tried to head on goal, but didn't place it exactly where he intended." Which, if nothing else, we probably shouldn't even know; the commentator surely shouldn't.
In FM07 i always had a striker stand on the near post and every one else just anywhere, and i'd have the kick taken to the near post striker, who would bag about 15-20 goals every season using this method alone.
Vincenzo Iaquinta is therefore the greatest player in FM07.
