Hello, just started 6th season as Gateshead and just been promoted to league 1. Since I started I have regularly requested parent and feeder clubs. On my first request I was succesful in landing Folkestone Invicta as a feeder (though none of my players will go there) to go along with the existing feeder club Bishop Aukland.

There was no parent club when I took over the club.

Since the succesful application for a feeder team I have not once been succesful in getting another- getting the "the board sees no point in creating any links at this moment" or "could find no suitable links." I get exactly the same all the time when applying for a parent club. Iam not so fussed about the feeder one as most my youngsters/reserves will go to Bishop Aukland if I ask, but I could really do with a decent parent club to send me some young blood. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

I get exactly the same thing playing with Düsseldorf in germany.

I ask the board and a couple of weeks later they come back saying they don't see the point!

Do the best to build up your clubs reputation and the board may be more willing to get feeder clubs.

Well I can appreciate that, and that's why I thought I would wait till I reached League 1, I've had 3 promotions in 5 seasons. In my demo game as Weymouth I got a parent at first time of asking- Bristol City. Ho hum, just keep trying I spose.
