Well there is a data update coming out with it, I just wondered though if they are mega rich or just have mega rich owners. They are not being linked with a stupid amount of players and havent spent stupid money already - so will this be a Roman Ambranovic style takeover or will it make more business sense and take things steady?
But QPR are already buying lots of players. Just not of world-class calibre yet, just those that are enough to see them to Championship safety. I'm sure next season they want to mount a serious promotion challenge.
I have an inkling that if they were in the Prem they would be spending lots of cash on players.
The owners have said they will spend the money that's needed to see us move forward.
Unlike Chelsea, right now we can't go spending £20m on players as we're in the Championship and we're being realistic by signing players who want to play and take us forward.
I'm sure once we get up your'll see the money being thrown about.
They probably will, its just I cant see them doing it like Chelsea did, just because the owners are mega rich doesnt mean they will chuck unlimited money into the club.
I think the point I was trying to make was, dont expect to have £20 million to spend when a data update comes out, as its not 100% clear about how much money is being invested in the club.
Of course, but people are arguing that because Abramovich threw his money straight in and we've not been spending £5m each on players we're not going to be invested in like Chelsea were.
If we had £7m-£10m it would be realistic. We've already spent over £5m on players with more to come and in the summer there will be even more being splashed out- a lot considering we're a Championship club.
The argument that we're not a rich club, it's the owners that are rich doesn't really stand either. If you look at the stats, it makes Chelsea pretty poor too but because the OWNERS of the club are so rich it means the club is essentially taht rich as the owners are the backers and the safe point of the club- if that makes any sense.
Things are different in Spain as every share holder has an equal stake, presidents decide budgets etc whilst in England individuals can buy a whole club- in our case we've three million and billionaires invovled- if QPR we're to hit financial trouble it means they would too, and the liklihood of that happening now is minisquile.
Agreed I doubt they would invest loads and loads while QPR's Championship status is in doubt, I think you would see a huge differance if QPR were gunning for promotion (in money invested in players and quality of players).
QPR should certainly have the sugar daddy option ticked with Bernie, Flav and Mittal owning the club!
If you hear the owners talking they are in this for the long haul and plan to make QPR a top club, upgrading the stadium, facilities and playing staff to achieve this.
Obviously we can't spend £10 million on individual players now because no player of that calibre would be willing to drop to the foot of the championship but we have spent £5 million or so already on players with experience of winning championship promotion and hungry young english players with potential.
The clubs reputation should certainly go up too as it is inevitable with all the media coverage.
