Hi, I have just come off the phone to my friend who, i may add, is a very honest and genuine guy (thats why im so excited about this) and he reckons this. For the last 3 months he has been working on a Pre Game Editor for FM 2008 where you can change the rules of competitions so i.e. you can have 6 teams from the Prem going into the CL at the end of the season, or just the champions. Also, he says he has changed the Prize Money for winning the prem to £100mill. Plus other things you can't do now. I have no idea what programme or hardware he is using as he wouldn't tell me. I was led to believe that this wasn't possible and i am asking you SI geniuses out there who knows more than me, if it is possible. I have known him 16 years and he is an honest guy. He said he will have it finished within 3 weeks. So, guess we will know then. Please don't have a go at me or call me a liar or whatever, i am just telling you all to see if anyone else has heard of something or if they know if it is possible. Thanks guys!

I very much doubt it is possible. I beleive these things are hard coded into the game which is why the official pre-game editor doesnt allow it.

I would love too see an editor capable of this, but can't really bring myself to beleive it. :thup:

I spoke to him again today and he said afew things. Firstly, he is not lying. Secondly, he does not know exactly when it will be available, he is getting a lot of errors but he said he can fix them. And thirdly, he wouldn't tell me what programme he is using. Any chance it could be a Hex Editor of some kind? I Await to see if he is actually telling the truth.

It's not possible without severely messing everything else up. There will be no longevity or stability with the game using this editor - it will create problems that won't be able to be fixed, or will create problems years down the line which he won't pick up during testing.

I would suggest no-one gets their hopes up until something has actually been released, and posted on here, and strongly tested by a large number of people for 20-50 game years.

Only then will I risk downloading and using it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't against the EULA to Hex Edit the software? I might be completely wrong, but that's what I thought.

Yes, without permission from Sports Interactive (which won't happen), the editor would be illegal.


Just another reason why it won't happen.
