I, like everyone else on this website, have played CM/FM since the beggining.

And thats whats really P+ssin me off! Overtime ive managed to adapt to the tactic settings and eventually with whatever team, i have gained some sort of success.

yet with FM07 i find this ridiculously impossible. and the impossiblites lie with the tactics.

Why, SI, have you made the game so that a player doesnt know what he/she is doing wrong when it comes to the tactics!?! Why cant your assistant managers aid you in a tactic selection?

Ive trawled through numerous threads, imporved on current tactics and even downloaded a few (i know i shouldnt ) but still, no success.

Im currently managing Bolton in 2010. having around 3-4 wonderkids in my squad with the likes of Nolan, Pato, Celsinho, Haim, Enyeama, Hunt, Luccin, Kapo, D'allesandro, Vaz Te, Beckham (still great) and many more good players in my side.

Last season - I finished 9th. Scoring the most in my league - 70, yet conceding the most - 60.
My players constantly seem to give the ball away and just simply cant pass. I could go on and on about what i hate....no, dislike about the AI, but i wont.

...actually, im going to have to stop. just typing this is annoying me.

yes, this was quite a rant but i just wondered if anyone else has had the same problems and how did they remedy?

You'll get there. There was an interesting article on the FM website about running a test game with England playing 5-3-2 that had a very interesting idea on how to assign marking for three centre backs that doesn't work in the lower leagues but might for you!

Think of this forum as an FIFA coaching qualification. Unlike the FA version, which is 'one system for all' this forum provides a multitude of approaches and methodologies that will help you understand the beautiful game (well, the FM simulation of it) and regain your enjoyment. Look for the TT&F threads, any of Cleon's, especially the Sheff Uts project, Dayle Wood's Guide for Dummies or Asmodeus's classic Slider Apathy. Once you ingest and digest these theories you will start having fun again.

Totallly disagree with you. The game has too many bugs and would need reorganisation. Its just too easy. Everything comes to buying players as you set your tactics well. If you read this I would like you to see what I wrote on "what would you like to see..." blog. I believe the game is maybe on 70% what it could be. Share your ideas!!! peace

To the original poster: When you first start this game it is very very hard, no arguments there.

The answer is to immerse yourself in knowledge and understand why things happen and how to counter them.

The basic goal should be to dominate your opponant and then turning that domination into goals.

But as each opponant is different and uses different strategies against you, you also need to have back up plans for when your tactic is not working.

Do you have a home and away tactic? Or just one to use all the time?

First of all, the game quite obviously isn't too easy, since so many people have problems playing it.

Second, I would like some examples of these "too many bugs", as I have yet to encounter, or hear of, one that makes the game unplayable.

Third, it comes down too much to the players you buy and the tactics. Erm... Yes? Isn't that football. Stop me if I'm wrong there.

There are many problems with the game, many of which I feel need major overhauls. Most of them are to do with the match engine, I'll grant you, but that's the main area of the game I'm interested in. There's no need to go into them here, but despite the flaws, the game is still winnable, still playable and still challenging.

Perhaps I'm useless at this game, but I struggle and I would consider myself quite an experienced player. I've had a reasonable level of what might be called "realisitc" success, but no winning the league with Gainsborough.

Too easy? Please...
