I have started using my most technically gifted player as my target man near the end of games that I am winning. I set him to run with ball and obviously at this stage of the game he will be time wasting.
I have found that this player will shield the ball and almost show boat. The best thing I have found is that he will win a lot of freekicks hence waste a lot of time. If the opposition has a defender on a card or is known to be rash I will put the player up against them and the defender often is sent off.
Does anyone else use this tactic?
If so what experiences have you had?
I often do this last 10 min of the match; timewasting on often then - Set my SC to hold up ball, no forward run, no run with ball, no long shots and make him " targetman" and pass to feet .
Only when im infront with a few goals tho
