I've also had problems getting the best out of Cristiano Ronaldo. he's playing okay, but not brilliantly, and certainly not scoring enough goals.

at the start of the season, I played him with medium creative freedom, forward runs, dribbling and crossing max, long shots medium, attacking mentality. now I've lowered his forward runs and crossing to medium to allow him to come deeper for the ball, and raised his long shots.

What I've noticed is that he still doesn't get the ball enough, and he often only has 1 or 2 dribbles per game. I'm at a loss as to what to try next. any ideas?

When I want him to get on the ball a lot (if the opposing full-back has a yellow card or is inexperienced) I put him as playmaker and target-man with distribution to feet. He gets the ball almost every single time we have it and wreaks havoc

On my save, where I play Nuneaton Borough, I checked Ronaldo´s average at United and he´s had 6.84, 6.24 and 6.57 these three seasons I´ve played. Surreal if you ask me!

I think the problem is that you are giving him too many things to do 'mixed' or 'often', if you just set him to playmaker, so he is given the ball, and let him run with ball often and nothing else, put the rest on rarely.

Perhaps play him with a sarrow inside to make him come inside to collect the ball and give him the option to go left or right. It's just a theory - I've never tried it with Ronaldo or any winger.

i usually play a normal 4-4-2 with ronaldo on the right with a short arrow into the attacking mid position. i give him much creative freedom, crosses mixed, attack mentality, close down rare, tackle easy, forward runs often, run with ball often. he's scored 19(my third top scorer behind rooney and ole) goals so far with a month left in the season, made 27 assits(16 more than the nearest), has an average rating of 8.95, and is tipped to win almost every award going. having rooney in the team seems to make him play better too.

What are your team instructions?

I think I've nailed tactics on the whole, but the situation with Ronaldo is really annoying me as it's the one thing I haven't managed yet - getting the best out of him.
