With players whose physical attributes are declining rapidly, is there anything you can do about this? Is it advisable to create a new schedule with the focus mainly on physical training to boost or maintain their current levels or are they going to decline regardless of what you do?

They will decline and there is little you can do to stop the physical decline. I have found that the default General schedule is best for players 30+
