Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get the best out of fullbacks? I am Liverpool, play a 4-4-2 formation and am doing pretty well. I'm pleased with how well the rest of my team is playing apart from my two fullbacks! I have Dani Alves at RB - CA 176 PA 185 and Ashley Cole CA 179 PA 184. Genie Scout says Dani Alves is the best player in the world in his position but yet he rarely gets above a 7 and has an average rating of 6.89 and im in March. Ashley Cole is only slightly better at 7.07. I dont think that it is to do with adapting in regards to Dani Alves as this is his second season in England.
It's not that I am conceding many goals but I just want them to contribute more and get their average ratings up.By the way, I dont think its the players at fault but more my individual instructions for fullbacks as my backup fullbacks have similar avg ratings too.
Can anyone help out with suitable instructions to get the best out of them?
Much appreciated if anyone can.
Cheers

Definately increase the mentality to at least 7 or something. If they are caught out of position then remove the farrows but keep forward runs to mixed or often.

You can't just set them to forward runs, higher mentality, forrows, and think that everything will be fine. Eventually you come up against a team that will use direct passing down the flanks and their strikers will beat your FB to the ball every time.
When this does become a problem you can try setting your wingers to high close down or you might have to get your FB to be more defensive.

Jaswarbrick is probably right there, also i find having your FB's on cross ball often makes them hit long balls to nowhere like you are saying your FB's do - solution put crossing on mixed or even rarely
