Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

i dont know if anyone has used this before but my mate tried it and its been working for him (portsmouth) unbeaten in bout 5 games against better teams and me (newcastle) i beat reading 3-1 and bolton 3-2 (both higher in the league than me)!

basically on player instructions click on "set to" and click each position i.e for a central defender click central defender and so on.

has anyboy tried this? if so have they had any success?

great response lol if anybody IS reading this i'm unbeaten with newcastle in about 21 games but the only big 4 team i beaten is liverpool 1-0

after 23 games i scored 48 and conceded 14, not that bad, also when i go defensive i make everything first notch i.e. first notch of defensive, first notch of slow tempo etc

would it be possible for anybody to try this out with another team?

would be much appreciated

Good for you.Which preset tactic you using?
On a side note...does anyone know what happened to the "442 free" preset tactic?

The only problem with using the pre-set player instructions is in trying to make up the team instructions, because there aren't any pre-set ones in FM07. I always used to use the pre-set tactics and team instructions pre FM07 and found that they were good
In FM07 there seems to be so many conflicting opinions of what will work and what will not. I am trying to make a working set of team instructions based on and using only the official manual and M.V.'s hints and tips. The problem is that it gives me no time at all to play the game.

I usually use the premade tactics and I found the best way to deal with things first is to just deal with the individual player mentalities first. I fix up my defence and goalie first and then let the game play itself.
I leave the team instructions alone and let the team play normally. Most of the time it works.

psilord80. I only have the team instructions for the 4-4-2 Free formation from FM06. They are thus. Ment = 10. C.F. = 11. P.S. = 10. Tempo = 18. Width = 13. CL. Dn. = 12. T.W., Def. Line and Tkl. are each on 10.
The mode of attack is down both flanks. All setting are the number of clicks from the left, on the slider bar. I hope that this is of some small assistance to you.

Never thought about using these templates but if I do, do you only have to adjust the width, tempo and defensive line in the team instruction

no, i've got two sets of tactics with the same player instructions, as i said the only thing the same is the creative freedom, just make everything the first click i.e. first notch of defensive mentality, first notch of direct passing, first notch of quick tempo, etc.

really hope people will use this tactics as i am enjoying taking my team to the top and want to carry on my save, would be much appreciated if anyone does use them
