hey folks hopefully this is in the right section. playing 7.02 version arsenal away seems an impossible task, I am liverpool now in third season, don't have trouble beating any one else, just the gunners away,

try going attcking 4-4-2 with wingers making long runs, have tried to counter attack, have tried 4132 keeping it tight, as well has 4-4-2 trying a posession tactic, but to no avail can anyone explain the best way? Henry and RVP et ak seem to do me over every time

The physical approach seems to be the way ala bolton style.
I would think winning the midfield is the key so i'd play a 4-5-1 high closing down CM with hard tackling and players with high agression. Id play direct football with a big strong TM up front and i'd tr to win via set pieces.
I know this is vague but i'm still getting the hang of this tactical business

you're talking about pre vela in first team, or post vela in first team?

i usually play them fairly deep but attacking. normal width , cr, etc. and i destroy home and away. i play as real madrid btw.

Yeah give them no room in midfield, cut down on their fullbacks and make sure your defenders stay deep. Simple

Doing that wouldn't leave a big gap between midfield and defense?

when i play deep i usually close down alot. i dunno if this is contradictory, but it works for me.

i think if you employ a pure DM would prevent a big gap between the midfield and defence.

i go for the bolton way of playing them, kick fabregas alot and close down the key players such as henry and van persie etc etc, play defensive but not too much or they will bombard your goal, maybe start defensive for 20 mins and then gradually come out and play more attacking football

Egad, I was literally about to start an identical thread. I think I would have said the exact same thing as Most_Righteous.

This is the only team I cannot figure out as MUFC. Driving me nuts. I can win at home, but I am hopeless away. I am going to try Rashidi's approach in the LC at Emirates right now...

Well, I began by employing a 442 with two DMs both on high closing down and tackling. Took early lead on pk. They tied it instantly on the second half kick off with long, ugly xing play that we should have defended.

I eventually settled into a 4132 with DM high cd and the MC on lower cd so that maybe I could complete a pass during the match.

They took the lead in xtra time. We scored 2 to win including 2nd in 119 minute.

Dont think I have figured them out yet, but I beat Arsenal Away 3-2!
