I often get this in my games. Once i become a big force in the premiership, and my old team of grafters are replaced by a new team of world class players, one player always seems to hold onto his place even though he is considerably less talented than the players around him. He does this by playing out of his skin obviously.
In my all conquering Forest game, Darren Carter Is my super average player with 2 Euro Cup Medals, and FA Cup medal and a premiership medal, yet his stats are way below what id expect for my team, he just plays out of his skin!! Hes even collected a few england caps.
Phil Jagielka is my super average player in my Wolves game.
When I won the CL with Swansea the only player i kept (2013) was Alan Tate. He scored twice and did numerous saving tackles in that match, and won player of the season 3 seasons in a row
My Leeds squad in 5th season, 3 consecutive EPL and CL winners, are full of best players in every position. Obviously, there's no one of the old blokes remaining except, Mathew Kilgallon(DC). I've been playin him as a LB, he's not letting Gareth Bale secure a first-team place being a player of 1/4h of Bale's calibre. Averages 8/8+ only! :o
Possibly for me it would be players like Tommy Spurr. Kept him in my wednesday squad despite there possibly being a lot of bettr left backs out there. Same with Whelan.
In 07 I was beginning to challenge for the title with Blackburn and could have easily got a world class winger but I had to stick with Gamst (who is still slightly underrated).
