Been meaning to post some of my regens from my Saints game for a while and finally got round to doing so. I've been doing an Arsenal and buying up loads of promising youngsters, so to avoid boring you with pic after pic after pic I'll put up the ones that are first teamers or on the brink of becoming so. Hope these all work...
Matt Gampbell - Probably should be my number 1 GK, but seems to be rather injury prone (lots of niggles rather than big ones) plus Ismael rarely makes mistakes and I'm loathe to drop players who are doing well. Came up through my youth system, one of two good ones I've had in 5 lots - the other is Gareth Foy (see below) who came in the same year as Matt...
Maurice Van Vliet - My second choice LB. Unforuntely for him my 1st choice is my captain, Gareth Bale. As such, most of Maurice's games come when Bale is injured, though I do sometimes move the latter up to LM to good effect and play them both.
Alexandru Iacob - Bought this guy at the beginning of the second season (my 1st in the
prem) as one for the future, but due to a bit of an injury crisis he went straight into the squad and he's been a starter ever since for both club and country. Doesn't score many, even for a defender, but he's a rock at the back. For the last 2 seasons he's formed a great partnership with Micah Richards, but I've thinking about breaking it up, due to....
Alexandr Yakunin - My Russian wonderkid, he spent a year on loan at Spartak Moscow, and was the best player in the Russian league as they finished second. He came back in Jan got a couple of cup games, before jumping into the first team for the last 8 games when Richards got injured. 3 MoMs, 2 goals and a 7.83 average gives me a tough but welcome choice for next season.
Paul Page - Bought from Villa for 2 mil a couple of seasons ago, he's spent all that time on loan in Scotland with good results, and he'll be challenging for my RB spot next season. The fact that he's English'll probably help his cause...
Rafal Malecki - A Polish hardman (he's very good at injuring players...), Rafal is my DM of choice, though his ability to play DC is very welcome too. Had a broken leg for the first half of the season.
Gareth Foy - As I said earlier, the second of my home grown players. Labelled "the next Beckham" for a while (so I hired a 35 year old Becks to mentor him, which worked well), he spent a couple of years on loan, before returning at the beginning of this seaons and he fitted well into my rather problematic right midfield role. He's injured so his stats are down a little.
John Lamb - Bought from Stoke after about a dozen tries (he kept rejecting my contract) John's yet to make a first team start, but is clearly seen as the next big thing of English football - I just rejected a £10 million bid from Chelsea.
Andres Mendez - The most expensive of these, costing me £6m a season and a half ago, Mendez took some time to settle, but has really proven himself worth of the LM spot this season. Not great at defending, but brilliant going forward.
Danilo - I found this guy when he was 16. I was blown away, and on his 18th brithday I slapped down a £1m bid which his club accepted. Now challenging Eddie Johnson for a 1st team spot, but picked up a nasty injury which counted him out of the second half of the latest season (I had to go back through my saves to find a shot where his stats hadn't degraded too much). Check out his value...
Alexander Dimitrijv - The best player in FYRMacedonia's short history? Most likely - I'm trying not to call him "Alexander the Great", but it's hard when he's this good. After a couple of sub appearances, he made his first start in the UEFA cup against Rangers. He scored 4. He then did the same against Villa in the next round. Since then, he's found it hard at times, due to the fact that I have Alexandre Pato as my first choice striker, but he's done well when he's been given the chance. I've rejected plenty of £10m+ bids for him.
[url=http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/3146/cstocp6.gif]Ciprian Stoica[url] - I know I said I was sticking to 1st teamers, but I had to put this guy on. The hero of my U18's youth cup triumph and one hell of a prospect.
