i've done leagues with arsenal and liverpool and had sucess with both.
but gerrard and fabregas just plodded thru the seasons averaging around 7.players a lot worse out performing week in week out.
how do u get the best out of your big cheese?
does any1 else have problems with big names?

You need to be sure that players are always playing in their best positions. If they are under-performing, don't be frightened to tell them so.

Ultimately, if you're not happy with them and don't see an improvement - sell them and bring in the players that are out performing them. You'll get great fees for both those players in particular.

i tried playing them everywhere!gilles barnes is outdoing fabregas!
only problem with selling them is it could cause riots at the clubs

clark, it also depends on your pre-match, halftime, and post match talks to the players. Gerrard needs special hanbdling. Ge critical of himj in talks and he will come to dislike you. Once that happens he won't perform. I had a league where that was happening, so I downloaded an editor to look at him and I was on his disliked list very strongly.

So, I restarted the game and gave him different talks that were not so critical.I praised him when needed and deserved in talks. Guess what? He started to perform getting 7s, 8s, and the odd 9.

As such you might need to look at what you are saying to these two as they may be of a similar mindset.

i tend to over praise rather than bollock players.
i tried him DM MC AMC AMR.
i know its a waste but i ended up trainin him 2 a RB and he was quite gud

Simply, the way I see it, DMs & CMs rarely get a high rating. The only way to make a player like Fabregas get a high rating is to involve him more with attacks so he scores or assists more. Him just making short passes throughout the game usually gets him a 6/7 rating.

teeyougee said it all...DMs and CMs dictate the game play, help in defence and offense in a very important way, but an avg above 7 for them is already a good rating...i find that even while i think they underperform, my team struggles a lot more without a solid dm or cm, like lucas for me, or gerrard and fabregas for u...
