Full Season 08/09

Literally an up and down season. I smashed the league open, and wasn't challenged for the title until the last few games, which I was able to win. Wigan had won the League One. Scoring goals wasn't a problem, as I got 111 through the campaign.

Finances got a bit out of control due to a massive wage bill. After signing 9 players, I had to sell 14 of them to not crawl over and die. I was really sad to lose my influential midfielder and winger. Stupid release clauses.

Championship will be hard without influental players, and with no cash. Relegation again perhaps? We'll see

Final Position 1st W30 D9 L7 F111 A46 P99
Cups: Lost Carling Cup 3rd Round to Rotherham 0 - 1
Lost FA Cup 4th Round to Aston Villa 2 - 3
Lost LDV Vans Trophy FINAL to guess who... Peterborough. 2 - 3. Was missing 3 first-teamers though, my 3 best players.

Full Season 09/10

Back in the Championship, and Wigan had a very good season. Hoping to avoid relegation, I guided them too 15th spot.

The disappointing part of the season is that all the quality players I signed when I joined Wigan, have had their contracts run out. With finances looking pretty dodgy, I won't be able to keep many first team regulars. I will lose my regular:

Left Back (Got a replacement)
Centre Back
Right Back
Left Midfield (Got a replacement)
Right Midfield (Got a replacement)
Attacking Midfield (Big loss)
3 Strikers (Got one replacement)

Next season will be tough without my dream team, but maybe I can keep them in the Championship.

Final Position 15th W16 D9 L21 F62 A82 P57
Cupss Lost Carling Cup 2nd Round to Sheff Utd 3 - 4. Gutwrenching match as I was 3 - 1 up.
Lost FA Cup 3rd Round 0 - 1 to Aston Villa.

Oh the joys of Wigan!

Can't Believe you jumped ship from the mighty Gate!

I've just finished my second season with them, and am intending to go the distance, but I was born there so the force is strong with me.!

I was gonna wait just a little longer before placing myself under the iron rule here and posting about my game.

Half-way through the season, Liverpool make a media comment how they are interested in one of my talented reserves to replace their aging influential midfielder. Hmm...

March 2011

The day that was 20.2.2011. I was sacked as manager of Wigan. Sitting 21st an in debt, the board obviously didn't think keeping me was a good idea. I was out of a job, and looking for employment elsewhere.

I got another job though. On the 28/3/2011 an application to be Cardiff manager was successful.

Both the board and supporters want a safe mid-table position. I don't think anything radical can happen in this season and we shall finish around our current position of 15th.

We have 9.8m in the bank, but the wage budget is high, so it may be time for a few a releases in the summer.

You can't keep a good manager down.

Full Season 2010/2011

I had the job of finishing the season for Cardiff and bringing in a few players. I signed 4 players, 3 from Wigan and 1 a free agent. I also have 3 players coming in the summer, including 2 very good South African attack-minded players.

Anyhoo, I finished the season 14th with good finances.

Bring on 2011/2012

NOTE: Arsenal retained the Premier Division for the 4th consecutive season.
