As you'll soon notice my native language isn't English, so I hope you'll have to suffer some Gramatical horrors

Renato Posappiani had just resigned to his General Manager position in a little club playing in the Madrid Regional 3° Division League after a promising and succesfull season with the team, but also full of discussions with the board.

Convincend that he still wanted to make his living from soccer, he made some phone calls to old contacts and got to know that Castillo del Romeral had just won promotion to 2° B Division in Spain and its manager had left the club tempted by a bigger one. Castillo del Romeral (Romeral's Castle is the direct translation into English) is located at San Bartolomé de Tirajana Department, in Las Canarias Islands.

After digging some information he realized that it would be a tough task to mantain the team in 2° B. Anyways the Canarias were a tempting paradise, so he decided to apply to the job, pour a Martini and wait.

Few days later, after some phone calls, he received the confirmation of his new assignement and a plane ticket. He'll be responsible for keeping Castillo in the lowest Spanish professional league.

He decided to enjoy the beautiful beaches and tropical weather of Canarias.

TEMPORADA 2004/5 - CASTILLO DEL ROMERAL - ESPAÑA 2°B Grupo 1

Renato had a warm welcome and enjoyed the happiness still present throughout the islands due to the so-long dreamt promotion.

After taking a look at the training ground he confirmed that it needed some investment, idea that was quickly turned down by the board for the simple reason that they didn't expect to survive in the division.

Stadium was "cute" with a unique stand for 3,000 people.

To achieve the non-relegation goal it would be necessary to bring a new goalkeeper, defender, midfielder & striker

However, press predictions (serious candidates for relegation), and the unknown reputation of Castillo's manager (hey! that's me!) made this task impossible.

So, season was pretty much irregular with amazing games followed by awful performances all throughout the season. However, we did it better than expected and finish 6° (two positions away from playoffs) altough 12 points short from 4th.

W 18 - D 12 - L 8 - F 64 - A 45 - PTS 68
Spanish Cup - out in preliminar round. Lost to Gimnástica de Torrelavega on away goals.

Anyways, I could renew my contract and enjoy these beautiful beaches for another year.

Opss, sorry.

However I read similar stories (a good one of a Manager that died and came back to earth?)
