Finally 1st Division!! Gotta enjoy this season 'cause probably will be the last one. The odds are 2000 to 1 :eek: :eek:

Only 3 new players 'cause noone wants to come for such a low salary.

So we started the season in the most competitive league with 2nd division players.

With 16 games played we're as mediocre as the rest of the teams, except for Real Madrid, Betis (intercontinental champs), Sevilla and Depor.

4 W, 6 D, 6 L. However, we claimed a 2-0 win over Barcelona and a 1-1 draw against Depor.

At this point we're 15th 6 points away from relegation and 7 short of an European Cup (my goal when I started with Castillo).

Gotta keep fighting all through the season.

Oh, by the way, I turned down an offer from West Ham, 17th in premier with 32.000.000 dollars for purchases!!!!!! (Actual Lleida budget is USD 1.800.000)

5 games to finish first season in 1st Division, and our performance stayed at a mediocre level, with a minor improve lastly. This improvement allowed us to reach a respectable 8th position, 1 point short of 7th (last year 9 teams qualified to Euro cups).

Relegation is history. Athletic Bilbao, Villarreal and Valecia will play next year in 2nd.

Rejected an offer from Atlético de Madrid (favoured club) with more than USD 60.000.000 for purchases.

And just like last year, in the final 5 games of the season we sucked. Finished 9th, 3 short of Atlético de Madrid. Top 8 qualified for European Cups (OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH :eek

Real Madrid did the double again.

7 years in Spain. Took me 5 years to take Lleida from 2°B to almost-qualify to an Euro Cup. Not bad, after all.

Rejected offers from top premiership again.

And thinking of staying in Catalunya again has starting to bore me. Qualifying to a European Cup wasn't much of a Challenge for next sesaon, so, after accepting the 2nd best Spanish manager award, decided to look for a new job, in a new league.

Happened to know that Stenhousemuir (8th in 3rd division in Scotland) had fired their manager and decided to apply.

After a long month waiting, received the confirmation.

Proudly Stenhousemuir's president told me that although they were going through a difficult financial situation they'll give me USD 4,000 to bring new players (!!!!!) :eek: :eek: :thdn:.

Bought 3 umbrellas and departed to Scotland.

SEASON 20011/12 - Stenhousemuir - SCOTLAND Third Division - 1st Post

And here I am, in the Scotish summer, no cold, no rain! :cool:

First Scotish dissapointment: The moment I realized that there is a Scotish Premier League, meaning that the Third Division is, in fact, the fourth Scotish category :o :thdn:.

However, the club was "cute" enough (http://www.stenhousemuirfc.com).

The "Warriors" play in a stadium with a capacity of 5,200 (2,100 seated). Finances sucked, with USD 300,000 in red and a dissapointing transfer budget of USD 2,000.

After a look at the players and 3 friendlies, decided to reinforce the team with 3 loanees and a lot of young free players (mostly for the reserve team). Oddest transfer was a right/left wing with 13 years and more than 200 games with Aberdeen.

Best historic position was in '59 and '61, 3rd in First Division.

Board think the club has a promising future and expect a mid-table position.

Bets put us and Ayr as favourites for promotion.

Start with 4 victories in a row and 0 against goals, so I started planning for next year in 2nd Div.

But this was only an ilussion, 'cause my usual irregularity showed up once again.

After 17 games we're 1st, with one point more than Ayr. W 7, D 7 and L 3.

Didn't spend a buck, but finances are as bad as always.
