With no experience in the Greek B division, I decided to take over the reins at Akratitos.

With no money, no fans and no prospects: Here goes my challenge.

2004/05 - Akratitos - Greek B league

The board and fans expected a promotion fight from my new 'Green Army'.

Straight away, after seeing my squad, I decided that I needed a few more players. But with wages og around £800 for each player and a transfer budget of £160k, it was going to be hard.

The first players that I bought were listed players from the A league.

In total 6 players were acquired.


The season has started with mixed emotions, losing in the first round of the cup to a lower league side 2-1 on aggregate. But then the league campaign kicked in and I got off to a flyer winning the first 4 games of the season.

Season2004/05

The first season in the Greek B league went fairly smoothly. After a fine run of form after the first 4 games, my 'Green Army' started sliding down the table.
8 games in and I was 4th from bottom with the board constantly nagging at me.

Then came the change....

I changed my formation and tactics from a sit back approach to an Al Out attack style. This created lots of chances and my ageing forward A.Player was happily banging away the goals.

4 games to go and the form started to drop again. I went down from 2nd to 3rd and it was down to the last game of the season. I needed a point for promotion or I would lose out to Kastoria.

The game started slowly and was 0-0 for 55 minutes until A.N.Other popped up with the first of his upcoming hat-trick.

Promotion was gained, the board and fans were happy, but I was falling deep into the red.

sEASON 2005/06

The future of Akratitos looked very uncertain but in Pre Season, the National Sports Fund gave me 250k to put in the bank. Television Money then followed but the tight gits in charge gave me a transfer fund of.... £0.

I was expected to play Under 20's in the top division and as expected I was relegated.

It was a very poor season as my lads failed to battle for anything.

I had a grand total of 0 points for a majoruty of the season and then finally I got off the mark.

The only bit of good form that I had all season was right at the end of the campaign.
