My third season in charge of Akratitos saw me back in the 2nd division. This time around though, I had money to spend. I had £275k in the kitty and more funding followed. This went straight into the bank (or the chairmans pocket) and a couple of players were drafted in, a 'keeper and a forward.
This season was by far my most consistent since I had been in charge. I was floating between 1st and 2nd all season.
Again, it went down to the wire, but this time it was for 1st place. A top of the table clash between my lads and Larisa had arrived and it finished 1-1, which meant I had to settle for 2nd again.
The new striker at the club finished the top scorer by miles and was also the player of the year.
The season got off to a flyer with Akratitos quickly rising to 3rd in the table.
15 games in and I was sitting pretty in 8th (well above mine and the boards expectations).
Then once again came a fatal slump in form which saw me rapidly drop from a comfortable position to 2 places away from the relegation zone.
With 5 games to go I knew that once again I would be fighting for top flight survival and then Xanthi had a game in hand, which they won. This sank me back down to the B league for the 2nd time in 4 seasons.
Well.... At least it was an improvement on my last attempt in the A league. In that season I went down quicker than a porn stars thong.
