And after a a 10 losing matches on the trot in the EC, I took the Sotown job. Hello Saints - I've hit the big time. Saving them from relegation should be straightforward. I've spoken at length about it in GQ, but the way wages/stadia are handled makes LLM less fun than it could be in my opinion - pretty difficult to attract even better-than-averge players for a maximum of 8k per month. Good experience overall, though, and I"m loving this career.

I'd have to disagree; it's the very essence of the fun. Wimbledon went very far with the lowest wages and lower quality players stuck in a crappy ground and then having to share someone else's.

Clubs these days don't bankrupt themselves on promotion by continuously expanding the stadium and buying masses of players.

Yeah, I'm ok with not bankrupting yourselves, but when a wage budget is set for 100k per month and you're running at 26k / month, it might be nice if you could offer a player more than 8k / month. Seems like you're not exactly breaking the bank, eyah?

I love playing this way, just started a new one as well, but it's frustrating working with the wage-budget v. maximum allowble offer per player situation.

Doesn't change my opinion of the game (it rules my free-time) but it changes my ambitions - I don't enjoy trying to take my squad higher when I can't offer a decent wage. If I were in the red or close to my wage budget, I'd agree, but I'm not. Frustrating for me - not all will agree and I should probably learn to enjoy the challenge of that - just wish I could make better offers.

Have to agree with mkus...the small wage bills is the way it is in LLM. It all part of the challenge, you just have to learn to recruit the best way you can with limited resources.

Once again, I understand that. I've played several LLMs now, I've lived with the wage budget and enjoyed the challenge. When I've failed to get promoted, I enjoyed that aspect (the difficulty) and when I have been promoted I've celebrated. This career I decided to take the job-hop route. I moved a team up two levels. The money poured in. The overall wage-budget increased. The amount I could offer a player didn't. Frustrating. Not a show-stopper, just frustrating. This isn't even an LLM discussion, as for this career I went from LLM to L2 and the L2 team is the one I had the problem with. I'm pretending they have low ambitions and took another job. Just a different career path, but I wish this could be looked at none-the-less.

So LLM is pretty well done here, time to start up a new one. Southampton finished a respectable 10th in my first season (came over with about 25 to play) and are doing well in my second. After 7 seasons, I'm pretty happy with this career. Chelsea came inexplicably calling but I told them where they could go with that idea.

Let's go see what this 'Frank' fellow recommends for my new career. Atletico Goianiense in the Brazilian National Third Division Group 15 (whatever that means). Looks like I have some new league rules to learn.

Look for a new LLM update thread coming to you in the someday future!

There's nothing stopping you from dropping down the divisions and continuing your current save - if you choose to do so

Well I thought about returning to Maidenhead, actually, but as I started job-hopping in this one I would feel a little bit "dirty" going back now. I'm going to keep playing this career off and on (I've had a ton of fun and want to see how far I can go now) but I feel I need a new LLM challenge (that and because I loaded about 10 leagues, my game has always been a bit slow between updates on my old laptop).

I've never managed in South America, and I hope to have an interesting time of it. I didn't have time to start yesterday, but looking over the squad it looks like I'll have a hell of a time!!

Thanks for the support and kind words!
