Just a question to all intrested.

First let me say I'm unsure whether or not this is allowed as a post here, if not, then please let me know and remove my post.

What I would love to get into is with let's say at least ten people, have a friendly challenge. Each on our own (so no network play) pick the same lower league team to start off with and see where we can get too.

Any ideas of people intrested can be mailed for all I care to ruffiort@hotmail.com. Or posted here of course. Although I would request that those willing to join let me know via mail.

I do intend to keep it simple so not too many countries (one or just a few) so that nobody's computer get's overloaded.

Been there, done that, got the freaking t-shirt, degas. We had some challenges like that back in the 01/02 times, but it didn't work out.

Challenges are frowned upon in here for a couple of reasons, degas.

By its very nature LLM's not about beating someone else or proving how good you are, so challenges serve no purpose, and, probably most important, they lend hand to a Liverpool ( ) situation developing.

That said, one of the best times in LLM was when we had the very first Leigh RMI challenge, but it was played under strictly controlled conditions.

In order for the playing field to be flat at the start it was necessary for everyone to use an English Quickstart (because of the random nature of the game when setting up a new game) and to agree specific conditions, that being the challenge would last for five seasons, it would be updated every season, and that it was played to defined LLM rules.

All a bit anal, you may say, but it worked and worked well. No-one involved said they didn't enjoy it...apart from me ( Liverpool ( ) )

I'll leave this open for a bit to guage response (I'm not confident it'll be good), and if there's enough interest in a similar challenge then I'd personally be quite happy to let it ride here, though I'll obviously contact the other LLaMa Mods.

Plus I think it was in the clash with NO BRAGGING rule.
Although it was fun to read guys, who were trying to prove and successfully proved that Wales clubs can have a European competition success.

Also .. not my intention to make this a bragging contest either. Only intend to have a max of 10 guys involved either. Just more an idea to have to fun of having the same "misery" perhaps? Or learn how others do it.

We'll see. But if no decent things comes from this in 24 hours ... just kill it .. lol

On my own ideas .. I woudln't mind keeping this off the message board till after it's over aswell.

THen again .. someone will always come and brag I fear

Actually, I myself wouldn't mind playing a common scenario with a certain goal or aim. I would suggest though that we'd leave all kinds of rankings/points/whatever out of the game, since they'd be against the LLaMa spirit and ethics anyway.

As Ian pointed out - and I said it myself a couple of times too - the challenges were enjoyable. The arguments that came with it partly were not, though.

I agree. challanges can be fun, udner certain limitations and with specific goal.
