This means the goods must meet the standards that any reasonable person would expect, taking into account the description, the price and all other relevant information. In some circumstances, the retailer may be liable for any statement made by the manufacturer about the goods.
Satisfactory quality includes the appearance and finish of the goods, their safety and durability and whether they are free from defects (including minor faults)
* Fit for the purpose
that goods of this type are generally sold. They must also be fit for any specific or particular purpose made known to the seller at the time of the agreement.
* As described
- goods should correspond with any description applied to them.
This above is pasted direct from trading standards website. A bug is minor fault, so it is covered!
| I repeat, it does in theory break the law but it would never be proven in court. The above law relates more to physical goods rather than software as well. Not to mention that the Sales of Goods Act applies mostly to retail (the shop) rather than wholesale (Sega).
Would you really be willing to take it to court? If you did then you will end up losign a lot of money.
What the law in it's summarised form like above says is not the same as what the law means when used in real lif circumstances.
A lot of what you have quoted relies on what claims SI or Sega have made and becuase SI and Sega have never claimed the game is perfect it ruins the whole of the argument.

Should just close GQ imo. It adds nothing to the forums anymore.

You're paying for a license to use what's on the disc, not the disc itself, basically.

| actually no, if memory serves. I BELIEVE, that when you buy software, what you're paying for is a license to use the code CONTAINED on the disc.
unless it's actually your CD which you're having trouble with? or the manual? or the case? in which case they are physical goods...

| So now you are trying to argue that FM is a physical good and not software?
Yes the disc that holds the data is physical, does the disc work? Yes. Does the data on the disc work? Maybe not but the data is not a physical thing.

| Yes it is. Is there anything wrong with your disc? Does it not go into the computer? does it have a crack in it? Is it wrecked? Is it impossible to start? No? then guess what. No faults.
The fact that the game is on a CD changes nothing. If the cd is faulty, then you're right, but it would still be up to the retailer. If it's not well you just made another horrible argumentation and I am now 90% sure you never went to lawschool.

Top quoting.
The fact that you're on Karoo tells me you're from Hull. Your inability to string a coherent sentence together is further proof.
