I am in my fourth season as stoke and have already won the premiership and now i'm in a good position to do so again and have qualified past the group stages in the european cup.
Unfortunately Mika Aaritalo has just come out in the press that he owes it to himself to move to a bigger club and play his football at a higher level.
I know IRL stoke city are not a big club currently but they do have a lot of history. With the history in mind or even without the history, i am guiding stoke to wonderful things
Basicly i would like to know, how do you make the players recognise my club to be a big club????
if i win the european cup, will that be enough or do i have to be english champions many times???
please help because i find this quite annoying!!!
Mika Aaritalo can go if he wants i just wanna know why he doesn't consider stoke as a big club!
It's all about reputation. Stokes reputation obviously will have gone up with your success but will still not be as high as the big clubs, so the player still sees stoke as a smaller club.
so those club rankings we get every year showing how far up or down your club has gone, determins how big your club is??
If this is so......
how does the point/scoring system work?
how far up the rankings do you need to be to be considered a big club?
another thing,
is there a list showing how many points you get for everything your club does? i.e. how many points you get for winning a game in the premiership or europe, or how many points you get for winning the premiership/european cup/FA cup etc etc
Stokes reputation tends to increase rapidly in the premiership without winning all that much but then it flatlines and you have to capitalise on it.
The fact is it will take a great many seasons of success to become part of the elite along with barca, man utd etc.
As an avid stoke fan I always play them and in my third season despite a mediocre first season in the premiership finishing 15th I managed to attract a few players to the club like Adu and Renato Augusto.
Keep winning and you will get there eventually, just give him a few months, Ricardo Fuller was saying the same during my first season at stoke and by the end of it he was content. Some players just get above themselves.
I'm not entirely sure as to how it works but I think it's something similar to golden boot comp etc. Winning a more popular league with give you more points as will FA Cup success and European success compared to Carling cup or Scottish cup. Money and value of club will also play a part.
It all depends on the team and it's ability to progress. E.g. at Bayern I won 8 cups in 3 seasons and I was up to 2nd in Europe. I managed 6 in 3 seasons with Rangers and only went up to 12th and took me ages to progress past this. The country's reputation might also play a factor in this.
I don't know exactly how the points work for the Club rankings. However, I'm very sure it's like th FIFA rankings. You get more points for winning against bigger club and lesser for smaller clubs. Also, more points will be earned in Champions League compared to League Cup. It should be along this line. Hope it helps.
Country reputation is important. Managing a club in England, Spain, Italy or Germany, you should'nt have a problem helping a club to become "big" if you're winning things.
What I would be interested to find out myself, is can your success with a club outside the big 4 nations, actually impact the country reputation?
For example, winning the Champions League numerous times with a Scottish or Swedish club. Would this in effect raise the country/league reputation figures in the game?
