In football manager terms does the type of pitch affect the players?

Also, is it possible to have sand pitches in FM?

if it's a poor quality pitch it will affect the players. if its muddy for example. or snowy

i'm not sure if sand pitches are legal in professional leagues?

I play FM in the African leagues (modified database) where there are sand pitches but they are grass in FM. I'm going to try playing with the stadium data to see if I can change it.

Played on a hard sand pitch near Barcelona once when my school team went there on tour.

You soon learned NOT to slide tackle, I can tell you that!!

even worse on artificial turf...
turf burn really sucks. your whole skin has these itchy little small dots that hurt. ouch.

My village team here in Spain plays on a sand/gravel pitch.

Grass is extremely expensive to maintain in a rural area like Andalucia during the summer months.

There's a lot of artificial pitches hear in Finland too, HJK play on a syntetic pitch due to the cold cold weather

Chelsea seem to like playing on mud pitches. Or at least those without grass...lol
