I have just completed my first season of matches, and was looking to instruct my players to stop training for a period of time, and to tell them to come back for pre-season training.

Looking in the help screen on training, it suggests doing this within the manager options screen, but I cannot find anything in there to help me do so.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

IN FM07 and FM08 the squad just goes on an end of season break. In earlier versions, you could specify the dates of the break yourself, so you'll need to be specific which version you're playing.

This is on FM08.

So if the break is automatic, then I guess SI will need to change the information provided in the help screen?.

It currently says "Note:If you wish to suspend training for certain periods, such as the closed season, you can do so by altering the relevant setting on the Manager Options screen.

If you right click on the player and go to the training tab, you should see an option marked rest where you can specify how long you want the player to rest for.

Grahamf, only up to one week - not really long enough for an off season break.

Well if the automatic break isn't good enough, why not just set up a training schedule with no training carried out and switch all the players into it. Just dont forget to move them back in preseason.
