Default Offside Goals (replays)

Don't you just hate it when a goal is controversially ruled offside. You look at the replay and the player clearly wasn't offside(although another who was not interfering with play may have been.

What do you do?

You complain of course and are warned by the FA. 'Replays seem to indicate the referee made the correct decision' wrongly according to the game.

Never experienced this.
If a referee/linesman makes a wrong offside call, and you complain, the FA will just stay silent.
If you are waned by the FA, then I think it is you who is incorrect in your judgement.

Offside can be given even though the player who is offside never touches the ball. I've just had it.

The AI can have problems judging what is interfering with play and what isn't it judging by what Ive just watched in slow motion.

Hmm.. I do understand what you mean. But Im not totally agreeing. If the FA warns you, the game has interpreted the offside call as a valid one.
But when watching some of those incidents where the 2D engine clearly shows that it should not have been called, is it me or the 2D engine game that is incorrect?
As a ref for 10 years, with around 50 games a year, I like to think that I have some knowledge of what is or is not an offside.

TBH I dont think its always the gamer who is incorrect - it can just as well be that the 2D engine dont show the situation correctly. Just like the case where the ball seems to go into the back of the net, but in fact it has gone over, etc..

It's very irritating as i've had shots that the keeper would never have saved hit from outside a packed penalty area and it being given offisde.

However, I suppose it's realistic, look at Chelsea v Newcastle, they get them right and they get them wrong.

Just like in real life - especially for us reffing without AR

But at least in real life you can use common sense

Same thing most managers do IRL. Whine and moan about it, then get on with their job.

I find this annoying aswell, it drives me skits.

In my last game, i had a goal ruled offside, and was incensed of course but thought alright i can still win. Five minutes later they score from an obvious offside position. What happens? Goal.

After the game, it talks about the controversy etc etc in the media. I of course state my belief that it turned the game against us, believing that i was correct.

Then after that i get reprimanded, so of course i watch the replay again. And note, yet again, that the scorer (when the ball was played) was 2 inches (on the screen) offside.

Now before i came on here i checked the rules of offside, just to be sure that i wouldnt make a fool of myself. Find out that my version of the offside is spot on, and of course im really annoyed.

Arghhhhhhhhh

Yeh, its annoying
