Look guys,

The Spanish league is playable even although it has a bug.

I play this league regularly and because of this I make it my responsibility to know the workaround until it is fixed.

I had this bug a few times but what you have to do is:

- Do NOT go on holiday until after the end of each of the transfer windows (September and January). You need to register the squad as per the mail in your inbox. If it does not appear go to the squad screen and "Change" it there.

- If you buy a new player (especially foreign players), you have to re-register the squad because of this addition to the squad.

If you do this you'll be able to play it without a problem. I know that there are a few frustrations in the game, but Miles' posting aside, we need to take some responsibility for reading these threads carefully before making rash statements. Miles did not say that there wasn't a problem. He acknowledges that there is a problem and that it will be fixed, however he is right in saying that there is a workaround that will suffice until the patch comes out.

Lets not create arguments over something that wasn't said or denied.

p.s. LSS made a reasonable post to start with but then Neyles misquoted him. And this is how these things start. Show your fellow posters some courtesy and read what they have written before posting yourself.

This is how I got round it:

On August 31st or January 31st (I think) you will get a news item stating that the registration window closes tomorrow. Go to your B squad and register the players you want, same with the first team. Then go on holiday til the 2nd of September or 2nd Feburary.

My B squad now always gets registered but never my c squad which I can live with. Has for players becoming unregistered after a game I have never had this problem.
Hope this helps.

(ps my save game was started out of the box and patched upto date.)

Give up people. obviously if we get this kind of attitude, what the hell do we care? they're sitting in their offices probably laughing at us while we sit around in our cushy armchairs typing furious answers out.

And here's the last laugh: I didn't pay for my copy. So there. I don't care if there isn't a patch or what, i didnt even pay for it. i'm happy to sit here waiting. as long as i didnt pay for it, fair enough, i shouldn't complain.

And yea, play in the English leagues with its massively overflated money. it's fun.
It's posts like these that get decent constructive threads closed. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Spot on, we don't want to give miles any more excuses to close threads. Ban muppets like this!

This is how I do it also. My c-team doesn't get registered, but my brother's c-team (Univ. Zaragoza) does and he's playing with me in a network game.

(We also started out-of-the-box and patched.)

Annoying thing with the 'holiday workaround' is that the CL and UEFA registrations close during the holiday and forces your ass.man to make the selections.

A look at the relevant thread in the bugs forum reveals there are two bugs. The original reported one and one which may deregister players.

You are a div. Why don't you grow up? Given that you've admitted to not paying for the game (and your location is a hotbed of piracy), why don't you just deregister and go away? </BLOCKQUOTE>

Perhaps somebody else bought the game for him as a gift thus meaning that he did infact 'not pay for the game'. I was thinking to purchase this game but delayed until now to see just how many bugs were in the game due to the shambles of the last 2 FM's (06 & 07) and so this has just proven to me exactly.

For me SI are losing it big time and obviously have lost control of the programming of the game engine. In my opinion they need to take a few steps backwards and learn to walk before they run and Miles Jacobsen really does need to have some lessons in PR as accusing your customersof having illegal copies when infact they have not and informing them that it is there fault if they cannot work around the bug and his damn right ignorance (Mr I can never be wrong mentality) is not doing SI any favours to say the least.

SI you used to have a quality game but I feel that you have gone out of your depth so take a step back and like I said earlier dont try to run before you can walk.

Yep the three players that always get de-registered are Iago, Troare and Banega even though I register them in December the next day they are not registered and are unable to play until the registration opens in January. Once this registration comes I can register the players and they fulfil the rest of the season. It just seems to happen with the decmber registration very weird and annoying.

Oh dear, Miles is sick of being abused about releasing an inferior product and not fixing said product so he blames us now.

We are the ones that put the "FOOD ON HIS TABLE" :p now he is basically calling us idiots because we don't know how to stop a bug that came with the game.

As for the workarounds, we shouldn't need to jump through hoops just to play a certain league.
