Having played the game until 2029 now, I took the England job in the summer of 2028. Soon after, I was offered the Portsmouth job so I accepted it and am now doing two roles. This is the first international job I have had since FM05 I think it was. I'm very dissapointed.

The media is my main concern. The English media have feasted on Fabio Capello since he took over, but in the game all I got was a message saying I had took over. Great. This problem isn't too bad when being a club manager because there is so much too do. However, with international management (especially England) the media shouldn't give me a moments peace. Not one word said about me doing two jobs, I can get over that but something which recently dissapointed me was the lack of critism.

Yeah, you heard, lack of critism. I signed an 18 year old stiker for my club team from Portsmouth, his stats aren't great but I have big plans for him in the future. He scored twice on his debut for my team against his former club, Man City. I was impressed so I played him against Cardiff away and Sheff Utd away where he drew blanks depsite playin well.

Soon after his third match I got a message saying that Liam Johnston had been injured, so I called up my young striker to replace him. He's 18 years old and has played THREE COMPETITIVE games. I played him as a substitute against Wales and he scored the winner. Before nor after the match I was dissapointed I didn't get critism for playing this young man or indeed praise for a risk paying off. When Sven took Theo to the World Cup, he was ripped to shreds by the media over here. I think that international management would be so much better if the media was much more intenstive. Things I would like to see...

Just a couple of ideas but it really would liven up international management. These would ideally be put in for club management too but my point is that the media should be one of the main factors when managing at international level (perhaps England more than anywhere).

I think the media side of the game will improve, as it has done over the years.

I too enjoy the opportunity of international management, though likewise, always have to have a club job in tandem to keep me busy.

There needs to be some improvements in general to the international side of the game and the media is certainly an important one.

I'm an English ex-pat in Spain, so as well as still getting access to news about my <STRIKE>home</STRIKE>, erm FORMER home nation's activities, I get to see what the media is like regarding the Spanish national team.

Believe me, the media here can be just as harsh - if not harsher - when things don't quite go to plan.

Remember when Spain lost to Northern Ireland not to long ago? Well here there was literally a "Spanish Inquisition" as to how the national team could possibly have lost to Northern Ireland!! You literally would have thought that some hairy barbarian had just raped and pillaged their beautiful daughter, bared his arse at the king, spat in their tapas, before wiping his a$$ on the flag and telling everyone that matadors are all gay! Of course that's a little extreme, but they were absolutely mortified.

Harsher and more "probing" media interaction at international level would certainly add to this area of the game IMO and it's definately a good shout.

SI have been good at strategically inserting some quality and funny media comments that pop up from time to time and I trust they will perhaps do the same for FM09.

"A journalist from the &lt;media source&gt; today commented that he was mortified that England have hired foreign manager &lt;player_name&gt;, believing that the job should go to an Englishaman"

You could have alot of fun with player reply options for things like this...

"Sorry but my Eengleesh is not good"
"I'll prove my doubters wrong!"
"But I'm getting well paid..."
etc,etc...
