It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default No Restrictkion Rule on Threads - its all for fun

I personally dont think that when you get new thinkers coming in and writing whatever, that we should give them rules or guidance, as long as they are not rude to the forum. I feel thats wrong. I Been playing since 1996, been good friend with Dogsfault and Turps (mostly Turdie Turps good old guy with humor), and i think this sort of behavior is snobby and bad. What i mean is: this guy comes into the forum and says: what can i do to make my Boro play better??
Your answer is: here is a key to unoffical bible of tactics, PLZ DO NOT POST LIKE THIS NO MORE....

I think its wrong, i think its better to keep track of all threads written, and open, no need for rules or perscriptions and what to do and not to do.

I am dre, i played CM from beginnning since 1996, had great fun with it..

The biggest mistake we ever did recently is to have a rule for seeking ONLINE PLAYING. That was soo important in the 90´s that you found a guy, not looking in a fact thread like a job application...
Its fun when people look for free discussions or free mind thinking, it shouldnt be someone saying: HEY YOU POSTed IN THE WRONG THREAD, READ THE FORUM RULES!!

Have we paid money to join this forum?? NO, then WHY THE **** SHOULD we READ SOME RULES??

GIVE ME A BREAK...
its all for the good and we should think how to make meeting in forum more fun...

We want it more free, lets organize a great clan or something....or a great way to meet up and have fun with the game. That thread sticking crap is gonna limit the conversation among lots of people...Just being honest , cheers!

Anarchy from the UK?

Have you paid money to join this forum? No

Does this forum need to exist? No

For it to be as useful as possible should we stop the 'Vat iz de bezt taktik'? threads? Yes

I understand your first point (that rudery and snobbery are uncalled for) but how can we possibly help someone who says 'I am Middlesboro. What tactic should I play?' We could write exactly the same things we already write in plenty of other posts or point him to those posts. Personally, and I'm sure I speak for most of the regular contributors, I don't want to keep on typing the same answers to the same questions. I don't see why I should make the effort if someone else is not willing to.

I have to say the rest of your post confuses me. I'm not too sure what you are trying to say.

All public forums need rules otherwise they are log-jammed with pointless and duplicate threads- you ask why people should have to obey the rules?- bcause that is exactly what you are asked to do when you join up to the forums. If you dont want to have rules then you dont have to join or post, its a simple choice. I see no reason to change the basic rules in this or any other SI forum but do agree that some leeway should be available for new posters at the start and rudeness should not be tolerated.

basically, dre, you can't have something without giving something esle. its give and take.

if everyone was given free speech without rules, there would pretty much havoc around this place.

people like wwfan and FrazT etc. are forum regulars that try their best (amongst their life) giving people, old and new, advices for free when they don't have to. so... yah, i could understand your "plight" but you have to understand theirs as well.

probably some shouldn't scream at first sight of a "hey, im so and so, whats the best tactic" thread by a new-bie, because he might not be aware of how to search other threads or the other threads available that could be helpful to him. so we redirect him to other threads and say "read the forum rules (please)", which i don't think thats rude to be honest.

Rules are rules, and are in place to make the forum a better place. if we didn't need rules and members to abide by them, then we would not need moderators.

We have forums to cover every aspect of the game, so that way its easier for people to seek the help they need and stick with in an area they feel best suited too.

People can post free thinking threads in here, as long as its to do with FM tactics or training and doesn't break rules., if not then its the wrong forum

Oh and one last thing, don't swear its against the rules and don't post using caps, its also against the rules.
