Has anyone noticed any changes with the match engine having the latest patch?
It seems even more difficult to me but im not sure if the patch has changed anything to the match engine.

This has been answered before-but I'll get in before one of the SI-programmed puppies gets in with their stock reply.
We don't know, we have been TOLD that nothing has changed other than the aggression of players regarding sending offs.
However, this forum shows that a lot of people BELIEVE that changes have occured in the match engine.
My view-there are many, many factors that affect how a match goes. It is possible that one of these not related to the matchplay itself may have been changed-this has the knock on effect of changing the events that occur in the match. To the casual observer this may APPEAR like a change in the match engine.
BUT-this is just a guess like anyone elses. I haven't disassembled the code that makes up the patch-no one has. We can only make guesses and assumptions based on experience.
Sorry if this was not the definitive answer you wanted but a puppy will be along in a few minutes with what the press release states....

Woof, woof
SI hasve told us many times that there were no substantive changes to the match engine in patch 7.0.2- as Zipflashy says however, there may well have been some other adjustments that would suggest that there have been changes, but no-one knows one way or the other.

To be honest this is something that annoys me quite abit. If my memory serves me right didn't SI actually bring forward the release date of FM2007?
How can you possibly do that when there was obvious problems with the game, its like they say we can release it now and then just sort the minor problems out via patches.
The with this is that it usually has a knock on affect with the match engine which means we have to try and re-ajust to the game again and figure out why tactics that were working before, are now not.

| This happens with virtually every piece of software, as it's impossible to test every single facet before release, and there's other factors like budgets, deadlines, etc. to take into account too.
Reinstall FM and only apply the 7.0.1 patch if it hacks you off so much.

Yes I do appreciate there are factors which will determine when the game is released. However some of the bugs in the past have been ridiculous that any sort of testing would have established.

I haven't noticed any major differences, SI have said there shouldn't be, so until I see something conclusive I'm going to believe them.
If something goes wrong, the stock response from most people is to blame everything but themselves. To be perfectly honest, blaming 7.0.2 for your woes is like blaming a loss on not wearing your lucky boxer shorts.

| FM was relased 2 days early, because certain shops made a mistake and were already selling the game. So SI/SEGA had there hand forced really and had no other option.
And in future do a search before posting duplicate threads. Oh and another tip, read the patch notes and you'd know exactly what was changed.
