Ok, my problem is whatever tactics i use only ever seem to work well for a few games, then i start to lose again. I've made some good ones myself, 442, 343, 433 etc., but i'm now losing patience. My last tactic worked brilliant for about 5 games, then i go and lose 9-0!!!! what ever i changed in the game didn't work.

What i've tried to do (unsuccessfully) is create a tactic, that is solid, where the attack comes from crosses from the wingers, straight to the striker in the box. GOAL!!

For some reason i can't seem to make this work, even though i make the attacks come from the wings, and put the wingers to cross from the by lines.

Please help what else am i missing???

First of all, which team are you playing with? because if its a bad team you cant expect to win all the time. And secondly, once you choose a formation, you should stick to it and try to keep it even if you go through a tough patch because if u keep changing the formation, your players become unsettled and their performances drop.

I play with Leeds Utd, and i don't expect them to win all the time, but i really don't understand why i lost 9-0, when i had won the last 5 games and really dominated them. Ok i could have understood 3-0 etc.

Are you sure you didn't play people way out of position by accident (ie. outfield player in goal)? Because 9-0 out of nowhere seems very strange, especially with Leeds, who are predicted to win the Championship.

did you not think even after going 4 nil ddown that your team were not playing the right tactics?

i suggest you take a look at cleon's sheffield thread where he describes the "tweaking aspect," which seems to be your problem.
