How does swaping positions work?

When two players swap, do they take their individual instructions with them?

When you want to swap two players, do you need to tell only one of them to swap positions with another or do both of them need to be told?

I'm asking because I've been thinking about swaping my strikers just throw off the AI. Has anyone had any success with it?

The instructions stay the same for the position, its only the players that swap (thats what ive read on here before).

you just need to set it up on one of the players instuctions, not both.

From my own tinkering, here's what I can tell you:

-The swapped players will indeed take on the individual instructions of the swapped position. ie, if you ask Giggs to swap with Carrick, and Giggs has high CF, Run with Ball, Carrick will take on these instructions when the players are swapped.

-Instructing BOTH players to swap with each other causes them to swap more often, which may or may not be a bad thing.

I found it worked quite well in a 4-3-3 system swapping the 2 outer strikers
