Well im not sure why but my GK wont progress in "goalkeeping skills".
Im playing with ajax and after 3 seasons stekelenburg still got 14 in handling, 14 throwing and 13 aerial ability..
Hes 22 at the beginnig of the game with a CA of 140 and hes pa is 172.
Its only hes fittness stats that have gone up and some mental like positioning and anticipation.
Why? My gk trainer is worldclass...
I think the reason we dont see a big improvement in those technique stats are; most Gk peek at age 31-33 right?
So my 22 age 140 ca 170 pa keeper will only gain a few point every year untill he above 30 right?
And since my fittness workload is kinda high it leave no room for those goalkeeping skills.
I redid my GK training sceme and lowered Aerobic and strenght slider to only a few tick after medium..but keot "goalkeeping" and "Tactics" on 1 click before intensive, and the wow! - green arrows in all abilities and after few months he had 1 point more in handling, aerial ability, anticipation, positioning, communication and anticipation - and the best part none of the fittness stats was going down.
Another thing I been wondering about is Teamwork for a GK.. is it needed ? I have not to seen it go up on any keeper in my squad. but when you look at top keepers they all have 15+ or so..yet all mine got a maximum of 9?!
Is Concentration something a GK need?
I dont think so..I have played 6 matches now where stekelenburg have 1 in Concentration( used FMM 2.12 to edit)
and there was no difference at all.
I think Marking is linked with Concentration - the ability to keep focused all 90 min in the backline ?
It makes sense to me that concentration should be even more important for a keeper than a defender, seeing as keepers usually have less to do during a game.
I beleave "Concentration" covers man marking. F.eks scout a player with poor concentration - your scout tells you; the player should not used as a candidate for a man marking role.
I played 2 more matches with my Gk concentration on 1 ..and no problems so far.
Next test will be Composure for a GK...see if it effects hes ability to not kick those ball long when under pressure instead of passing it short to my defender as I told him to
Can someone tell me why most goalkeepers have a high value in "freekicks" ?
How often do you see a Gk take freekick in real life ?
And which stats are important for penalty.. reflexes ?
