When I go to the Manager Overview tab and look at my own personal profile, I see that my Tactical Consistency rating is 10 while most of my other ratings are much higher. I was wondering, is this just a rating, or does it have an effect on how well my players actually play?

I generally use a 4-4-2 formation but I often go with a 4-1-2-1 diamond formation. I don't even know if formation is the only factor taken into account -- what about the sliders? Should I be worrying about making these minor changes to my tactics too often?

No - it means nothing so dont worry about this. The only thing that affects you as a manager in getting another job is your reputation.
