yeh good point tho i think hes settled in chelsea with his family and stuff and coming towards end of career he is thinking of his family and all, however,he still good enough to start for most top teams around europe,if he was given games to get sharp again

The problem is that he doesnt strike me as being ambitious or a fighter. He's just another player happy to make a living without earning it. That might be really harsh, but I cant see any other reason why he chose to stick on at Chelsea. When Cech came, he should have left the next season. He's still 33-34, so still has 2-3 years at the top of him game. You'd reckon he'd move in to get first team football now if he actually cared. As it is, he's happy earning tons of money doing nothing. Just the way some people are, I suppose.
you cant really say that though because he could probably does have strong feelings for chelsea and their fans having been theur for a while. he does seem fairly loyal that he is stayin italian and is staying at chelsea. it might not be about the pay he is getting but could you imagine all the stick he would get of italians if he played for england or if like the only teams that did come in for him where english clubs and he wanted to stay in the prem, he would get a load of stick of chelsea fans aswell.

First of all, any Chelsea fan who gives him any stick because he decides to leave the club would be an idiot. The guy has stayed faithful for a long time and now that he's not in the first team plans, I think 99% of the fans would understand if he chose to leave.

As far as love for the club goes, I suppose its fine if you are still playing regularly. Guys like Totti, Maldini, Raul belong in the category. But in Cudicini's case, he knows he wont get in the first team ahead of Cech come what may. And logically speaking, anybody would seek a move from the place where their career has stagnated. Thats true everywhere, not just football.

As far as him playing for England goes, I was responding to the post before mine. If he actually did say that he was interested in playing for England, then why didnt he do anything about it? Languishing in the Chelsea reserves isnt going to get you into the reckoning. And even if he's well settled in London, there are plenty of clubs in the city who would be glad to have him.

A quick search from the GQ. Someone pretty credible posted that Cudicini was sort of binded by the gentleman's agreement of the Home Nations that he cannot play for England since he gained English nationality by staying here for 5 years, and not because he has a relative born in England. The gentleman's agreement states that a player can only play for the country of his 2nd nationality if he gains the 2nd nationality through having a blood relative born in that country.

Ryan Giggs also played for England as a schoolboy, but he chose to play for Wales too.
